Key Project Particulars |
Globe were appointed Principle Designer and Architect for the refurbishment of the two storey Hutton building and single storey Public Health buildings on the Lincoln County Hospital site. The previously rundown and vacant buildings will form a new home for the Breast Screening unit, comprising of a dedicated area for Screenings (within the Hutton building) and a dedicated area for Symptomatic patients receiving consultations (within the Public Health buildings). The new suites include ultrasound and mammography screening rooms and symptomatic consulting rooms.
The work is taking place within a live hospital environment. The near derelict buildings are receiving a comprehensive refurbishment, comprising: new roof weatherproofing and insulation upgrades; New external windows and doors, full new interior refurbishment and layout: The scheme also incorporates an external landscape seating area adjacent to the new entrance.
The buildings are linked by a new infill extension and also connect to the main Hospital via a new enclosed walkway. The refurbishment layout provides separate entrances and waiting areas for the two distinct patient groups. Disability discrimination considerations have been incorporated into this scheme with fully accessible disabled toilets; internal lift to provide access to all areas and induction loops provided at both receptions. |
